Alex Polizzi was on Richard Bacon's BBC radio show yesterday reviewing her superb new series The Hotel Inspector. She said that if you follow the basics its a bloody good start, which are: 1) Make sure your hotel is very clean everywhere. 2) Welcome guests properly with a smile and look like you are happy to see them. 3) Deal with complaints properly and fully. 4) Run at a profit, make sure you do not discount rooms too much. The only one I would add to that is to make sure you are "always selling" through promotions, events, web optimisation, social networking and revisits etc.
